AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING SKY'S THE LIMIT, P.C, TO CONDUCT A PARACHUTE
JUMP ON APRIL 23, 1987, IN CONNECTION WITH BUCCANEER DAYS
FESTIVITIES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. SKY'S THE LIMIT, P.C. is authorized, pursuant to
Section 9-6 of the City Code, to conduct a parachute jump on April 23, 1987, in
connection with Buccaneer Days Festivities at a time and place and under such
conditions as approved in writing by the City Manager; provided that said
organization shall first obtain liability insurance for such activity in the
amount of one million dollars ($1,000,000), satisfactory to the City Attorney
and the Risk Manager, covering bodily injury and property damage, naming itself
and the City of Corpus Christi as insureds, and shall abide by such regulations
as may be prescribed by the City Manager.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first
reading as an emergency measure this the ZI si-day of Apr 1 , 19$7 .

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
