AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACTS WITH TRAFFIC SIGNALS,
INC. FOR THE PURCHASE OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL "SYSTEM
COORDINATION" EQUIPMENT FOR THE INTERCONNECTION OF EXISTING
SIGNALIZED INTERSECTIONS ON KOSTORYZ ROAD, WEBER ROAD,
DODDRIDGE STREET, AND AIRLINE ROAD; APPROPRIATING $281,452;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
contracts with Traffic Signals, Inc. for the purchase of traffic signal "system
coordination" equipment for the interconnection of existing signalized
intersections on Kostoryz Road, Weber Road, Doddridge Street, and Airline Road,
all as more fully set forth in plans and specifications and contract documents
on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof
by reference and according to the bid of Traffic Signals, Inc., said bid being
the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $281,452 from the
No. 220 Street Bond Fund, applicable to Project No. 220-82-5.1, Traffic Signal
Improvements.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take
immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the
construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance
is pqAml and shalla^kffect upon first reading as an emergency measure this
