APPOINTING RODOLFO TAMEZ PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE MUNICIPAL
COURT IN CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; APPOINTING MELENE DODSON AND
BILL MONKRES MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGES; APPOINTING CHARLES A.
VANAMAN MUNICIPAL JUDGE, DIVISION E, PART-TIME MAGISTRATE;
DECLARING THAT ONE VACANCY EXISTS FROM THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF
THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR TERMS OF OFFICE; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Rodoifo Tamez be and he is hereby appointed Presiding
Judge of the Municipal Court in Corpus Christi, Texas, effective April 29, 1987.
SECTION 2. That Melene Dodson and Bill Monkres be and they are hereby
appointed Municipal Court Judges effective April 29, 1987.
SECTION 3. That Charles A. Vanaman be and he is hereby appointed
Municipal Judge, Division E, Part-time Magistrate.
SECTION 4. That effective April 29, 1987, one vacancy exists as
Municipal Court Judge to be filled by the City Council as soon as possible in
its term.
SECTION 5. That the term of office for the Presiding Judge and
Municipal Court Judges appointed herein shall be until the next Council term
begins and then each such appointee shall serve until a successor is appointed.
SECTION 6. The effective date of this Resolution and the appointments
hereunder shall be April 29, 1987.
SECTION 7. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first
reading as an emergency measure this the AF day of 4Orf , 19 "7 .

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
