AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH OCEANSIDE
ASPHALT, INC. FOR CURB AND GUTTER, SIDEWALK, DRIVEWAY,
WATERLINE AND PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS TO THE LAMAR AREA EAST
STREETS; APPROPRIATING $150,000; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a
contract with Oceanside Asphalt, Inc. for curb and gutter, sidewalk, driveway,
waterline and pavement improvements to the Lamar Area East Streets, all as more
fully set forth in plans and specifications and contract documents on file in
the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by
reference and according to the bid of Oceanside Asphalt, Inc., said bid being
the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $150,000 from the
No. 561 Street Bond Fund and authorizing $524,628.30 from the No. 162-152-807.10
12th Year Community Development Block Grant for a total of $674,628.30, of which
$592,979.43 is for the contract award and $81,648.87 is for additional
engineering, contingencies and incidental and related expenses applicable to
Project No. 561-86-2.3, Lamar Area East Street Improvements.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take
immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the
construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance
is pa sed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this

or at the present meeting of the City Council.
