HomeMy WebLinkAbout19838 ORD - 07/07/1987AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF CENTRAL POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO A PORTION OUT OF LOT 7, SECTION 20, FLOUR BLUFF AND ENCINAL FARM AND GARDEN TRACTS FROM "R -1B" ONE -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "I-2" LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of Central Power and Light Company for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi. WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, July 7, 1987, at regular Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That the zoning on a portion of Lot 7, Section 20, Flour Bluff and Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts, further described by metes and bounds below, in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be changed from "R -1B" One -family Dwelling District to "I-2" Light Industrial District: A 14.00 acre tract of land, more or less, out of Lot 7, Section 20, Flour Bluff and Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts as shown on plat in Book A, Page 43, Nueces County Plat Records, Nueces County, Texas, more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: COMMENCING at a point, the intersection of the Northwest boundary line of said Lot 7 and the Southwest right-of-way line of 120 foot wide Saratoga Boulevard; THENCE S 29°00'00" W with the Northwest boundary line of said Lot 7 a distance of 396 feet, more or less, to a point, the point of beginning and the Northwest corner of this tract; 05P.176.01 i998 MICROFILMED THENCE S 29°00'00" W continuing with the Northwest boundary line of said Lot 7, a distance of 864 feet, more or less, to a point, the Southwest corner of said Lot 7 for the Southwest corner of this tract; THENCE S 61°00'00" E with the South boundary line of said Lot 7, a distance of 660 feet more or less to a point, the Southeast corner of said Lot 7 for the Southeast corner of this tract; THENCE N 29°00'00" E with the Southeast boundary line of said Lot 7, a distance of 864 feet, more or less to a point, the Northeast corner of this tract; THENCE N 61°00'00" W with a line 396 feet from and parallel to the Southwest right-of-way line of 120 foot wide Saratoga Boulevard, a distance of 660 feet, more or less, to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed shall take effect upponn first reading as an emergency measure this the 7 day of �,,(__,�, ATT S/( /3 rty secretary APPROVED:/ DAY OF , 19,T HAL GEORGE, CITY ATTORNEY 05P.176.01 MAYORG U THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS Corpus Christi, Texas lfitday of , 1982 TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
