AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ADMINISTRATION, DIVISION 15, SENIOR
COMMUNITY SERVICES ADVISORY COMMITTEE, BY AMENDING
SECTIONS 2-170, MEMBERSHIP, AND 2-173, DUTIES; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 2, Administration, Division 15, Senior
Community Services Advisory Committee, is hereby amended by amending
Section 2-170, Membership, by deleting the words "and income" in the second
sentence.
SECTION 2. That Chapter 2, Administration, Division 15, Senior
Community Services Advisory Committee, is hereby amended by amending Section
2-173, to read as follows:

Sec. 2-173. Duties.
The Advisory Committee's duties will be:
(1) To advise the Senior Community Services staff of the
needs for services according to locally conceived
priorities;
(2) To assist the Senior Community Services staff in the
development of comprehensive senior citizens program
plans;
(3) To establish priorities and make recommendation for
appropriate program funding;
(4) To review and evaluate Senior Community Services
operations;
(5) To coordinate program and planning activities with
local agencies and organizations that serve senior
citizens;
(6) To advise in the planning and implementation of the
Title V older Worker Program as set forth by the
requirements of the National Council on the Aging, Inc.
(7) To appoint a Retired Senior Volunteer Program Advisory
Committee (RSVPAC) to assist in the planning and
implementation of senior citizens volunteer programs to
comply with the federal Action Agency guidelines.

Members of the RSVPAC shall serve staggered two year
terms, not exceeding six years consecutively, as such
terms are presently constituted, and the present RSVPAC
appointments and system of making same are hereby
ratified.
SECTION 4. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 5. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in
substance the purpose of the ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon
such publication.
