A RESOLUTION
SUPPORTING PLANS OF THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO EXTEND THE CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY
SOUTH OF PADRE ISLAND DRIVE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
WHEREAS, The State Department of Highway and Public Transportation
has presented plans for extending the Crosstown Expressway south of Padre Island
Drive to alleviate traffic congestion and thereby provide for future traffic
capacity on existing streets and highways; and
WHEREAS, the Crosstown Expressway Extension is identified in the
Corpus Christi Urban Transportation Plan as a project of highest priority;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: -
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi,
endorses the extension of the Crosstown Expressway as recommended by the State
Department of Highways and Public Transportation.
