AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE ARTICLE 28A, "HC"
HISTORICAL -CULTURAL LANDMARK PRESERVATION, BY DELETING
SECTION 28-A-5 LANDMARK COMMISSION - CREATED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance, Article 28A, "HC"
Historical -Cultural Landmark Preservation is hereby amended by deleting
Section 28-A-5, Landmark Commission - Created and renumbering and making
additions to Sections of the Article as follows:
Section 28A-5 Same - Function
Section 28A-5 Same - Function A(3) . . . Removal pursuant to Sections 28-A-8
and 28A-9. . .
Section 28A-5 Same - Function C(2) . . . designate a landmark as provided by
Sections 28A-6 and 28A-7
Section 28A-6 Action by the City Planning Commission
Section 28A-7 Recording of Designation
Section 28A-8 Exterior Alterations and Changes - No person . . . of a
designated landmark or listing in the Preservation Plan in the City . . . As
used in the this article, . . . such portion. Rehabilitation of a landmark
shall be subject to the document from the Secretary of the Interior's entitled
"Standards for Rehabilitation and Guidelines for Rehabilitation of Historic
Buildings. A copy of the document is available in the Planning Department. The
erection and change of signs . . . procedures and rules prescribed the
Sections 28A-8 and 28A-9 hereof.
Section 28A-9 Landmarks - Demolition or Removal - No person . . a designated
landmark unless . . . The Building Official . . shall hold a duly noticed
public hearing as prescribed in Article IV of the City Code of Ordinances,
Miscellaneous Boards, Commissions and Committees, Section 2-207 on the
application within ten (10) days. . .

SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in
substance the purpose of the ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon
such publication.
