AMENDING THE CITY CODE, CHAPTER 53, TRAFFIC, SECTION 53-254,
SCHEDULE V - INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN CERTAIN ZONES;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Code, Chapter 53, Traffic, Section 53-254,
Schedule V - Increase of state speed limit in certain zones, is hereby amended
by adding the following:
•
Bockholt Road
From Agnes Street to the south city limit - 45 MPH - at
all times.
Saratoga Boulevard
(All that portion within the city limits - 55 MPH - at
all times except as follows:)
From Cimmaron Road (Sta. 437 + 75) to Airline Road
(Sta. 457 + 95) - 50 MPH - at all times.
From a point approximately 1,650 feet west of Rodd
Field (Sta. 477 + 48.3) to a point approximately 910
feet west of Rodd Field Road (Sta. 484 + 08.3) - 50 MPH
- at all times.
Up River Road
From Erwin Street to Navigation Boulevard - 35 MPH - at
all times.
From Navigation Boulevard to the north city limit -
40 MPH at all times.
Yorktown Boulevard
From Oso Parkway to Everhart Road - 35 MPH - at all
times.
From Everhart Road to So. Staples Street - 40 MPH at
all times.
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it

shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in
substance the purpose of the ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon
such publication.
