A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Robert Wilson Eagles, a softball team from the City of
Corpus Christi, was the only team from the State of Texas to play in the
"International Sumner Special Olympics."
WHEREAS, the team members through their hard work, courage and
determination did succeed in winning a "Bronze Medal" at the "International
Summer Special Olympics."
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi wishes to
recognize and praise the hard work and efforts of the players and their coaches
for the great success they had at the "Special Olympics."
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi wishes to
recognize the coaches: Denise Sens, Lois Haywood, and Enrique Salazar for their
hard work and continuing efforts on behalf of the team members and the "Special
Olympics."
WHEREAS, the City Council of the
recognize the individual team members:
Del Rio, Melinda Vargas, Edward Montez,
Garcia, Erin Lord, Robin Lord, Gary Solis,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
City of Corpus Christi also wishes to
Jose Curiel, Oscar Del Rio, Brenda
Joe Cavazos, Albert Garcia, Robert
and Raymond Vincent.
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SECTION 1. That the Corpus Christi City Council recognizes the
efforts of the coaches and team members of the team known as the Robert Wilson
Eagles as commendable and praiseworthy.
SECTION 2. That the Corpus Christi City Council wishes to convey its
congratulations and a hearty "well done" along with those of the citizens of the
City of Corpus Christi to all of the staff and players associated with the
Robert Wilson Eagles.
