HomeMy WebLinkAbout19919 ORD - 08/18/1987AN ORDINANCE CANCELING ASSESSMENTS AGAINST CERTAIN PROPERTY IN CONNECTION WITH STREET IMPROVEMENTS AS SET FORTH IN ORDINANCE 19748, AND THE NOTICE OF THE CITY SECRETARY FILED IN THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING THE GENERAL RELEASE OF ALL PROPERTIES ABUTTING ON THE STREET AS DESCRIBED HEREIN AFFECTED BY REASON OF SAID NOTICE IN CONNECTION WITH STREET IMPROVEMENTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the assessments levied against certain property in connection with street improvements as set forth in Ordinance 19748, passed and approved on May 26, 1987, and the Notice of the City Secretary filed in the office of the County Clerk of Nueces County, Texas, on the 9th Day of June 1987, and recorded in Volume 2064, Pages 137 and 138, of the Deed Records of Nueces County, Texas, is hereby declared canceled and of no further force or effect. SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a general release of all properties abutting on the following street affected by reason of said Notice in connection with street improvements: Kostoryz Road from 448 linear feet south of McArdle Road to 510 linear feet north of McArdle Road. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall ke eff ct upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /VA day of J , 19 87 .
