AMENDING THE CITY CODE, CHAPTER 2, ADMINISTRATION,
SECTION 2-78, FEES, TO INCREASE OVERDUE FEES AND AUTHORIZE
THE CITY MANAGER TO SET OTHER FEES FOR LIBRARY SERVICES;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Code, Chapter 2, Administration,
Section 2-78, Fees, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 2-78. Fees.
(a) Overdue Fees:
(1) Each book, phonodisc (records),
vertical file item and document,
per day $0.10
(2) Each art print, 8mm film, media kit,
and A-V equipment other than 16mm
projector, per day $0.50
(3) Maximum overdue fee 1/2 of item
(b) Other fees:
The Library Director shall annually review other fees
including lost material charges, fee cards, duplicate
borrower's cards, transaction or book cards, signature
cards, reader -printer copies, minimum charges for damaged
items, reservations, copy machine copies, and other library
services, and shall make recommendations to the Library
Advisory Board and City Manager for appropriate changes in
the schedule of fees. The City Manager shall review the
recommendations of the Library Director and the Library
Advisory Board, and such changes as are approved by the City
Manager shall be effective upon posting of a revised
schedule of fees in each library.
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall ,be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.

SECTION 3. ublication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in
substance the purpose o the ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon
such publication.
