WHEREAS, Hayden W. Head, Sr. a longtime resident of the City of Corpus
Christi, was on July 24, 1987, called to his eternal rest; and
WHEREAS, Hayden W. Head, Sr. was appointed by the City Council to the
Airport Advisory Board in 1966 and served for 20 years, the majority of which
were served as Board Chairman; and
WHEREAS, Hayden W. Head, Sr. during his service as a member of the
Airport Advisory Board performed an outstanding service to the Airport and the
community, and greatly enhanced the progress of the Corpus Christi International
Airport and aviation in South Texas; and
WHEREAS, the passing of this longtime civic leader is a loss to the
citizens of the City of Corpus Christi as well as to his family and friends;
WHEREAS, on the 28th day of July 1987 the Airport Advisory Board
unanimously voted to recommend that the City of Corpus Christi honor the memory
of Hayden W. Head, Sr. by designating the Corpus Christi International Airport
Terminal as the Hayden W. Head, Sr. Terminal; and
WHEREAS, the City Council in grateful appreciation of the tremendous
contributions Hayden W. Head, Sr. gave to this community desires to honor his
memory; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting that the Corpus Christi International Airport
Terminal be named in memory of Hayden W. Head, Sr. so that all who travel
through Corpus Christi will remember his great contributions to this community,
this State, and this Nation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the valuable services performed by Hayden W. Head,
Sr. are deeply appreciated by the City, and the citizens of this community, and
that this brief record of his many accomplishments, contributions, and public
service be recalled and that this resolution be spread upon the minutes of the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi and become a part of the archives of
this City.
SECTION 2. That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family
of Hayden W. Head, Sr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
SECTION 3. That as an affirmation of the appreciation of the citizens
of the City of Corpus Christi for the outstanding leadership and service on the
Airport Advisory Board, and for his dedication to the furtherance of Corpus
Christi International Airport, be it resolved by the City Council, City of
