HomeMy WebLinkAbout19946 ORD - 08/25/19874 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLES 3, 7A, and 29 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE BY DELETING, SUBSTITUTING, AND RENUMBERING PROVISIONS THEREOF; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Article 3, Section 3-1.55 is hereby amended by deleting said Section in its entirety and substituting a new Section 3-1.55 to hereafter read as follows: "3.1-55 Sign. The term 'sign' shall mean and include every device, structure, frame, letter, figure, character, mark, plane, point, design, picture, stroke, stripe, trademark, or reading matter which is used or intended to be used to attract attention, convey information, identify or advertise any establishment, product, goods or service when the same is placed out of doors in view of the general public. The term 'sign' shall not include a similar structure or device located within a building except illuminated signs within windows. The term 'sign' shall not include the flag or pennant, or insignia of any nation or association of nations, or of any state, city, or other political unit, or of any charitable, educational, philanthropic, civic, or religious organization." SECTION 2. That Article 7A, Section 7A-2(2) is hereby amended by increasing the number of days an occupant of a trailer space may remain in the same trailer park up to one hundred eighty (180) days so that said Section shall hereafter read as follows: "Section 7A-2(2) Trailer spaces shall be rented by the day or week only and the occupant of a trailer space shall remain in the same travel trailer park not more than one hundred eighty (180) continuous days." SECTION 3. That Article 7A, Section 7A-3(5) is hereby amended by deleting said Section in its entirety and substituting a new Section 7A-3(5) to hereafter read as follows: 08G.966 "Section 7A-3(5) There shall be no minimum lot area for a mobile home site in a mobile home park, however, there shall be no more than twelve (12) mobile home spaces per acre of gross site area. The minimum side-to-side unobstructed clearance between mobile homes shall be twenty (20) feet except where an open carport or porch is located contiguous to a mobile home, a minimum ten (10) foot unobstructed clearance is allowed between the mobile home and the outer edge of the open carport or porch. End -to -End clearance 19946 MICROFILMED between mobile homes shall be no less than ten (10) feet, and no part of a mobile home shall be located closer than twenty (20) feet to any building within the park nor closer than five (5) feet to an access drive." SECTION 4. That Article 29, Section 29-3 is hereby amended by deleting subsections 29-3.01 through subsection 29-3.05 and subsection 29-3.10(3) and renumbering the remaining subsections appropriately. SECTION 5. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 6. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon such publication.
