AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACTS WITH J & B
CONTRACTORS, INC. D.B.A. SOUTH TEXAS UTILITY CONTRACTORS,
FOR THE WATERLINE ADJUSTMENTS AT THE INTERSECTION OF OLD
BROWNSVILLE ROAD AND PADRE ISLAND DRIVE AND PADRE ISLAND
DRIVE NEAR CAMRON STREET; APPROPRIATING $400,000.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
contracts with J & B Contractors, Inc., d.b.a. South Texas Utility Contractors,
for waterline adjustments at the intersection of Old Brownsville Road and Padre
Island Drive and Padre Island Drive near Camron Street, all as more fully set
forth in plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office
of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and
according to the bid of J & B Contractors, Inc., said bid being the lowest and
most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $179,000 and $221,000
respectively from the No. 205 Water Bond Fund of which $169,931.50 and $209,400
are for the contract awards and $9,068.50 and $11,600 are for contingencies and
related expenses applicable to Project No. 205-87-44-2.5, Old Brownsville
Road/PID Waterline Adjustments, and Project No. 205-87-44-2.6, Camron Street/PID
Waterline Adjustments.
