CLOSING ONE LANE OF TRAFFIC FOR A BICYCLE RACE SPONSORED BY
THE CORPUS CHRISTI BICYCLE CLUB FROM 7:00 A.M. TO 8:00 A.M.
ON OCTOBER 11, 1987, ALONG THE EAST LANE OF THE NORTH BOUND
PORTION OF OCEAN DRIVE, SHORELINE BOULEVARD, I.H. 37, HARBOR
BRIDGE, AND NUECES BAY CAUSEWAY; REPEALING RESOLUTION 19893;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That one lane of traffic is hereby closed for a bicycle
race sponsored by the Corpus Christi Bicycle Club from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on
October 11, 1987, along the east lane of the of the north bound portion of Ocean
Drive, Shoreline Boulevard, I.H. 37, Harbor Bridge, and Nueces Bay Causeway.
Such closed portions of the above-described rights-of-way shall be the most
easterly lane of traffic of said north -bound roadways. Resolution 19893 is
hereby repealed. The Corpus Christi Bicycle Club shall provide insurance in
form and amount as provided by the City and naming the City as a named insured.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare and emergency due to the need to
close the lane of traffic for the purposes aforesaid, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular
meetings to that this ordinance is passed and shall take e fect up n fa�rst
reading as an emergency measure this the lilt day of ) ,

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
