REPEALING RESOLUTION 19879 AND ANNULLING THE CONTRACT AWARD
TO A.M.H. CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE SAN CARLOS SANITARY
SEWER IMPROVEMENTS; RETAINING THE CONTRACTOR'S BID SECURITY
CHECK' IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,370.05 AS LIQUIDATED DAMAGES;
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH J & B
CONTRACTORS; APPROPRIATING $106,282.63.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Resolution 19879 passed and approved on July 28,
1987, is hereby repealed, and that the contract award to A.M.H. Construction
Company for the San Carlos Sanitary Sewer Improvements is hereby annulled.
SECTION 2. That the contractor's bid security check in the amount of
$3,370.05 is hereby retained as liquidated damages.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a
contract with J & B Contractors, Inc. d.b.a., South Texas Utility Contractors,
for the San Carlos Sanitary Sewer Improvements, all as more fully set forth in
plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the
City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according
to the bid of J & B Contractors, Inc., said bid being the lowest and most
advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 4. That there is hereby appropriated $55,055.26 from the
No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund and authorizing $51,227.37 from the
No. 162-152-807.10 12th Year Community Development Block Grant for a total of
$106,282.63 of which $94,140.45 is for the contract award and $12,142.18 is for
additional engineering, contingencies and related expenses applicable to Project
No. 250-86-44-15.1, San Carlos Area Sanitary Sewer Improvements.
