AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACTS WITH MEHNE
CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR THE OSO RECREATION CENTER EXPANSION
AND H.E.B. TENNIS CENTER IMPROVEMENTS AND WITH MOORHOUSE
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE LINDALE
RECREATION CENTER, WEST GUTH SWIMMING POOL, AND PRICE
SOFTBALL FIELD; APPROPRIATING $580,386.56.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
contracts with Mehne Construction, Inc. for the Oso Recreation Center Expansion
and H.E.B. Tennis Center Improvements and with Moorhouse Construction Company
for improvements to the Lindale Recreation Center, West Guth Swimming Pool, and
Price Softball Field, all as more fully set forth in plans and specifications
and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which
are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bids of Mehne
Construction Company and Moorhouse Construction Company, said bids being the
lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $580,386.56 from the
No. 551 Park Bond Fund of which $253,600 and $311,600 are for the contract
awards and $6,400 and $8,786.56 are for contingencies, engineering, and related
expenses, respectively, applicable to Project No. 551-86-2.2, Oso Recreation
Center/H.E.B. Tennis Center Improvements and No. 551-86-2.3, Lindale Recreation
Center/West Guth Pool/Price Field Improvements.
