HomeMy WebLinkAbout20053 ORD - 11/03/1987AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF R. C. ALLEN BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO A PORTION OF LOT 10 OF THE BALDWIN-MOORE FARM LOTS FROM "R -1B" ONE -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "I-2" LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of R. C. Allen for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi. WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, November 3, 1987, during a meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That the zoning on a portion of Lot 10 of the Baldwin -Moore Farm Lots in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, and described by metes and bounds below, be changed from "R -1B" One -family Dwelling District to "I-2" Light Industrial District: 39.97 acres of land, more or less, out of Lot 10 of the Baldwin -Moore Farm Lots as per plat of said Farm Lots of record in Vol. A, Page 50, of the Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, to which reference is here made, and which 39.97 acres are described by metes and bounds as follows: Beginning at a stake for corner at the center of the road at Southwest corner of Farm Lot 8 and the Southeast corner of Farm Lot 7 for Northeast corner of this tract; Thence on a Westerly angle on the most southerly line of Farm Lot 7 being the Northerly line of this tract 412.6 varas to the Northwest corner of this tract being the southwest corner of said Farm Lot 7; 204BC003.ORD 20053 MICROFILMED Thence South with the West line of this tract and the East line of Farm Lot 11, 533.1 varas to a stake for a corner in the Northeast line of William Robertson Survey for the Southwest corner of this tract; Thence in a Southeasterly direction with said Northeast boundary line of said William Robertson Survey, being the Southwest line of this tract, 471.9 varas to a stake for a corner and this being the Southeast corner of said Farm Lot 10 hereby convey and the Southwest corner of said Farm Lot 9; Thence North with the East line of said Farm Lot 9, 762.1 varas to the the Northwest corner of Farm Lot containing 47.3 acres of land save land, being 7.33 acres of land out Baldwin Moore Farm Lots in Nueces and bounds as follows; this tract being the West line of Northeast corner of this tract and 9 and the "Point of Beginning," and except the following tract of of the Southeast corner of Lot 10, County, Texas, described by metes Beginning at a 3/4 inch iron pipe being 12 inches below the ground for the Southeast corner of Lot 10, Baldwin Moore Farm Lots, for the beginning and the Southeast corner of this survey; Thence along the South line of said Lot 10, Baldwin Moore Farm Lots, N 60°58'00" W 15.91 feet to a 3/4 inch iron pipe being 12 inches below the ground and a point on the Northeast right-of-way line of Tex Mex Railroad to the U. S. Naval Air Station to a point of curve whose radius is 1935.08 feet; Thence along said curve with a radius of 1935.08 feet in a Northwesterly direction 311.84 feet to a 3/4 inch iron pipe being 12 inches below ground for a point of tangency of said curve; Thence along the Northeast right-of-way of said Tex Mex Railroad N 60°58'00" W, 909.96 feet to a 3/4 inch iron pipe being 12 inches below ground for the Northwest corner of this survey; Thence East 1068.78 feet to a 3/4 inch iron pipe being below ground and a point on the East line of said Lot 10, Baldwin Moore Farm Lots, for the Northeast corner of this survey; Thence along the East line of Lot 10, Baldwin Moore Farm Lots, South 621.84 feet to the "Point of Beginning" for a 7.33 acre tract of land. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. 204BC003.ORD SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the ,9 day of 1111-Qntko,0 1937.
