WILLS, CONSULTING ENGINEERS, PROVIDING FOR THE PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR TAXIWAY A AND F (RUNWAY 17-35) MEDIUM INTENSITY LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS AND PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION FOR ADDED SERVICES RELATED TO THE RUNWAY 13-31 HIGH INTENSITY RUNWAY LIGHTING SYSTEM REHABILITATION; AND APPROPRIATING $23,377. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute Amendment No. 3 to the Engineering Services Contract with W. P. Wills, Consulting Engineers, providing for the preparation of plans and specifications for Taxiway A and F (Runway 17-35) Medium Intensity Lighting Improvements and providing for additional compensation for added services related to the Runway 13-31 High Intensity Runway Lighting System Rehabilitation, all as more fully set forth in the amendment, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit A. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $23,377 from the No. 541 Airport Bond Fund applicable to Project No. 541-86-3.1, Taxiway Rehabilitation for Runway 13-31. P. Wills, Consulting Engineers, hereinafter called "Engineer", agree to the following amendment to the Contract for Engineering Services for Taxiway System (Runway 13-31) Rehabilitation and Lighting which was authorized by Ordinance No. 19618, passed on January 27, 1987, and amended by Ordinance No. 19723 on April 28, 1987, and Ordinance No. 19894 on August 11, 1987. Section I, Services to be Performed, shall be amended to include: Taxiway A & F (Runway 17-35) Medium Intensity Lighting System Rehabilitation Design a replacement medium intensity taxiway lighting system including cable replacement and taxiway guidance signs for that portion of Taxiway A (south of Taxiway C) and Taxiway F which serves Runway 17-35. Section II, Scope of Services, Paragraph E, Order of Services, shall be amended to add the following items of work to the contract: Engineer agrees to begin work immediately on the aforementioned medium intensity taxiway lighting system upon approval of this amendment by the City Council and written notice to proceed. All design work relating to the medium intensity taxiway lights shall be completed within 30 calendar days of notice to proceed. The time for the City's review shall not be counted toward the completion schedule. Section III, Fee, shall be amended to provide additional compensation to the Engineer as follows: Additional compensation in the amount of Twelve Thousand Seven Hundred Sixty and no/100 Dollars ($12,760.00) shall be authorized for added services provided relating to the Rehabilitation of the Runway 13-31 High Intensity Runway Lights. Requested design changes to utilize quartz type lights and replace certain wiring in conduit necessitated the additional services. A. Fee for Basic Services Authorized, add the following paragraph: The City shall pay the Engineer a fixed fee of Ten Thousand Six Hundred Seventeen and no/100 Dollars ($10,617.00) providing for services only as described in Engineer's letter dated October 14, 1987, (except Special Services) relating to the Taxiway A & F (Runway 17-35) Medium Intensity Lighting System Rehabilitation. This fee will be full and total compensation for all services related to this work. Fees for Special Services relating to the work are outlined in Section II, Paragraph D, of this contract. H. Payment of Fees for Preliminary Phase Basic Services, add the following paragraph: Amendment No. 3 - Engineering Services Contract Taxiway System (Runway 13-31), W. P. Wills Page 1 of 2 For services rendered in the Preliminary Phase associated with the Taxiway A & F (Runway 17-35) Medium Intensity Lighting System Rehabilitation as described above, the sum of Six Thousand One Hundred Fifty and no/100 Dollars ($6,150.00) shall be due and payable. C. Payment of Fees for Design Phase Basic Services, add the following paragraph: For services rendered in the Design Phase associated with the Taxiway A & F (Runway 17-35) Medium Intensity Lighting System Rehabilitation as described above, the sum of Four Thousand Ninety Two and no/100 Dollars ($4,092.00) shall be due and payable. Approval of the final plans and specifications shall be required prior to final payment of this phase. Payment may be made on a monthly basis, based on invoices submitted by the Engineer. D. Payment of Fees for Construction Phase Basic Services, add the following paragraph: For services rendered under the Construction Phase associated with the Taxiway A & F (Runway 17-35) Medium Intensity Lighting System Rehabilitation as described above and as authorized by the City, the sum of Three Hundred Seventy Five and no/100 Dollars ($375.00) shall be due and payable. Payment may be made on a monthly basis, based on invoices submitted by the Engineer. All other terms and conditions of the contract approved on January 27, 1987, and amended on April 18, 1987, and August 11, 1987, between the City and Engineer not specifically addressed herein, shall remain in full force and effect.
