Home My WebLink About20096 ORD - 12/01/1987AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI BY GRANTING A SPECIAL COUNCIL PERMIT FOR A RECREATIONAL VEHICLE PARK ON A 3.00 ACRE TRACT OUT OF PORTIONS OF BLOCK 389, BLOCK 411, AND PORTIONS OF THE ORIGINAL STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY OUT OF BROOKLYN ADDITION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of the City of Corpus Christi, for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, December 1, 1987, during a meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That a Special Council Permit be granted on a 3.00 acre tract out of portions of Block 389, Block 411, and portions of the original street right-of-way out of Brooklyn Addition, situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, and further described by metes and bounds below, for a recreational vehicle park, according to the site plan, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A", and subject to all other considerations of "AT" Apartment -Tourist District. A 3.00 acre tract, more or less, consisting of portions of Block 389, Block 411, and portions of the original street right-of-way, out of Brooklyn Addition, as shown on Plat of Record in Volume A, Page 32, Nueces County Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:. • BEGINNING at a point, the intersection of the southwest right-of-way line of Hull Street and the southeast right-of-way line of U. S. Highway 181, for the north corner of this tract; THENCE in a southwesterly direction with said southeast right-of-way line of U. S. Highway 181, a distance of 393.00 feet, more or less, to a point for the west corner of this tract; THENCE in a southeasterly direction, at right angles to said southeast right-of-way line of U. S. Highway 181, a distance of 218.00 feet, more or less, to a point for an inside corner of this tract; 2O4BCO48.ord 20096 5 THENCE in a southwesterly direction, a distance of 135.00 feet, more or less, to a point 292.00 feet, more or less, from the aforementioned southeast right-of-way line of U. S. Highway 181, measured at right angles thereto, for the south corner of this tract; THENCE in an easterly direction, at right angles to the line established by the previous call, a distance of 87.00 feet, more or less, to a point on the existing westerly right-of-way line of Surfside Blvd., for a corner of this tract; THENCE in a northeasterly direction, with said existing westerly right-of-way line of Surfside Blvd., a distance of 297.00 feet, more or less, to the point of curvature of a curve to the left whose central angle is 101° 29' 13" radius is 225.00', tangent is 275.32, and length is 398.44, for a corner; THENCE in a northwesterly direction with said curve to the left, an arc length of 398.54 feet, more or less, to the POINT OF BEGINNING. In the event the Board of Adjustment grants any special exception or variance to the Zoning Ordinance, applicable to the Special Permit herein granted, other than the one specified in this Special Permit, said Special Permit shall be void and of no force and effect whatsoever. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effeec�t upon first reading as an emergency measure this the - day of• �tJ, 19$7 .
