On this the 3rd day •1• of December, 1987, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas convened in Special Meeting, with the following members of said Council present, to -wit: with the Betty Turner, (vacancy) David Berlanga, Sr., Leo Guerrero, Linda Strong, Bill Pruet, Cliff Moss, Mary Rhodes, Mary Pat Slavik, Craig A. McDowell, Hal George, Debra J. Andrews, Armando Chapa, following absent: Leo Guerrero Mayor, Councilmembers, City Manager, City Attorney, Director of Finance, City Secretary, and Mary Pat Slavik constituting a quorum, at which time other business was transacted: City Manager presented for the the following among consideration of the Council a resolution. The resolution was read by the City Secretary. Linda Strong moved that the resolution be adopted. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Bill Pruet The motion was carried by the following vote: AYES: All present voted Aye. NAYS: None. The Mayor announced that the resolution adopted. The resolution is as follows: 20097 had been RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FORM OF THE OFFICIAL STATEMENT PERTAINING TO CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS GENERAL IMPROVEMENT AND REFUNDING BONDS, SERIES 1987, AND AUTHORIZING, RATIFYING AND APPROVING THE OFFICIAL STATEMENT AND THE USE THEREOF IN THE OFFERING AND SALE OF SAID BONDS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi is authorized to issue and sell its General Improvement and Refunding Bonds, Series 1987 pursuant to the Constitution and laws of Texas; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council that the Official Statement pertaining to said Bonds, and the use of said Official Statement should be duly authorized, ratified and approved. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: 1.. That the use of the Preliminary Official Statement in connection with the offering of said Bonds is hereby ratified and approved. 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve the form of the Official Statement and thereupon the City Manager and the City Secretary are authorized to execute and deliver to the underwriters purchasing said Bonds, and upon the execution of the Official Statement by 20097 the City Manager and City Secretary said underwriters may use the Official Statement in connection with the offering of said Bonds. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this the 3rd day of December, 1987. I, the undersigned, City Secretary of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, do hereby certify that the above and foregoing is a true, full and correct copy of a resolution adopted by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas (and of the minutes pertaining thereto) on the 3rd day of December, 1987, approving the form of the Official Statement pertaining to City of Corpus Christi, Texas General Improvement and Refunding Bonds, Series 1987, and authorizing, ratifying and approving the use of the Official Statement, which resolution is duly of record in the minutes of said City Council, and said meeting was open to the public, and public notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting was given, all as required by Vernon's Ann.
