HomeMy WebLinkAbout020176 ORD - 01/19/1988AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AMENDMENT TO THE MANUAL OF DRIVEWAY DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 19105 BY AUTHORIZING REVISIONS TO SECTIONS V, VIII, AND X OF THE MANUAL PERTAINING TO DRIVEWAY PERMIT REQUIREMENTS, DRIVEWAY DESIGN STANDARDS, AND DRIVEWAY RESTRICTIONS; AND AUTHORIZING THE ADDITION OF APPENDIX D TO THE MANUAL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Manual of Driveway Design and Constructions Standards adopted by Ordinance 19105 on December 6, 1985, is hereby amended by revising Sections V, VIII, and X of the manual pertaining to driveway permit requirements, driveway design standards, and driveway restrictions as set forth in Attachment A, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto. SECTION 2. That the Manual of Driveway Design and Constructions Standards is further amended by adding an Appendix D, Collector Through Streets, as set forth in Attachment B, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto. 205rp028.ord 2oi77MICROFILMED Amendments To Ordinance No. 19105 Adopting Manual of Driveway Design and Construction Standards 1. DRIVEWAY PERMIT REQUIRED (d) A non-refundable fee of $15.00 shall be paid at the time application for a Driveway Permit is made. and ealy when the requirement Ear a Building Permit is net applieable: 2. Pg. 12 VIII DRIVEWAY DESIGN STANDARDS (e) Driveway Width and Curb Return Radii (1) The width of the driveway approach shall be measured at the property line. 3. Pg. 18 X DRIVEWAY RESTRICTIONS (d) Driveway Restrictions on residential lots Driveway access to an arterial or to the collector through streets listed in Appendix D as designated by the Corpus Christi Urban Transportation Plan shall not be permitted on: (a) A residentially zoned lot that fronts or sides an arterial or collector through street when it has existing driveway access to a local street or when driveway access can be constructed to a local street; or (b) A residentially zoned lot that has a driveway restriction noted on the recorded plat; or (c) A residentially zoned lot that has double frontage and backs up to an arterial or collector through street. (e) Driveway restrictions applicable when rezoning occurs from a residential to a business classification. The driveway restrictions identified in Platting Ordinance No. 4168 as amended shall apply when replatting occurs as a result of rezoning from a residential classification to a business classification. ATTACHMENT A (f) Driveway Restrictions Applicable when commercially zoned lot(s) (AT, AB, B-1, B -2A, B-2, B-3, B-4, B-5, B-6, I-2 and I-3) have rear frontage on local streets. No driveway access to local street shall be permitted when commercial zoned lot(s) (AT, AB, B-1, B -2A, B-2, B-3, B-4, B-5, B- 6, I-1, I-2 and I-3) back up to a local street upon which residentially zoned properties front.
