AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF
DR. CARLYLE B. SLABAUGH BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN
REFERENCE TO A PORTION OF LOT 32, SECTION 27, FLOUR BLUFF
AND ENCINAL FARM AND GARDEN TRACTS FROM "F-4" FARM -RURAL
DISTRICT TO "B-4" GENERAL BUSINESS DISTRICT; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its
reports and recommendations concerning the application of Dr. Carlyle B.
Slabaugh for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi.
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing
to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council
of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public,
said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, March 1, 1988, during a meeting
of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus
Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by
the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best
serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the
City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That the zoning on a portion of Lot 32, Section 27, Flour
Bluff and Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces
County, Texas, further described by metes and bounds attached hereto as
Exhibit A, be changed from "F -R" Farm -Rural District to "B-4" General Business
District.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time
to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for

efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning
change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is pas ed and shall e effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the / day of

27, Flour Bluff & Encinal Farm & Garden Tracts, as shown by plat
recorded in Volume A, Pages 41-43, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas
and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a 5/8" iron rod set for the North corner of this tract,
said point also being on the Southeast right-of-way line of Rodd Field
Road (S.H. 357) and bears S61°11'00"E, a distance of 74.26 feet from
the North corner of said Lot 32.
THENCE along the Northeast boundary of said Lot 32, S61°11'00"E, a
distance of 325.37 feet to a 4" x 4" wood fence post for the East
corner of this tract, said point also being the corner of Lake Placid
Estates, a subdivision, as shown by plat recorded in Volume 50, Pages
143-144, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas;
THENCE along the Northwest property line of Lake Placid Estates,
S28°51'36"W, a distance of 1261.80 feet, to an iron rod set for the
South corner of this tract;
THENCE N61°25'19"W, a distance 249.96 feet to
the Southeast right-of-way line of Rodd Field

and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
