HomeMy WebLinkAbout020236 ORD - 03/08/1988AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE, CHAPTER 13, BUILDINGS; CONSTRUCTION AND RELATED OPERATIONS; HOUSING AND HOUSING PREMISES STANDARDS, SECTION 13-48, FEES FOR IMPOUNDING, STORAGE, ETC., PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Code, Chapter 13, Buildings; Construction and Related Operations; Housing and Housing Premises Standards, is hereby amended by amending Section 13-48, Fees for impounding, storage, etc., to read as follows: Section 13-48. Fees for impounding, storage, etc. The following fees shall be charged and shall be paid to the impounder of the city, only if performed by the police division: (1) For the taking and impounding of any personal property, where a wrecker is necessary, forty-five dollars ($45.00). (2) Storage fee, including storage for all or part of the first twenty-four (24) hours, five dollars ($5.00), and for each twenty-four hour period or portion thereof. (3) For preparing advertising for sale of each article including newspaper advertisement, one dollar ($1.00). (4) For selling each article, one dollar ($1.00). (5) For posting notices of sale for each article, one dollar ($1.00). (6) For newspaper advertisement, the actual publication costs incurred. For the cost of each certified letter, the actual cost incurred plus one dollar ($1.00) for preparation of the letter. (8) For administrative handling and processing, seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50). SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City (7) 205PW057.ord 20236MICROFILMED Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 3.
