AMENDING THE CITY CODE CHAPTER 53, TRAFFIC, SECTION 53-60,
SAME --REDEMPTION OF VEHICLES; FEES FOR IMPOUNDMENT AND
STORAGE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Code, Chapter 53, Traffic, Section 53-60,
Same --Redemption of vehicles; fees for impoundment and storage, is hereby
amended by amending Subsections 53-60 (a)(1)(a) and (a)(1)(b), to read as
follows:
(a)(1)(a). Payment of a towing fee of forty-five dollars
($45.00), a storage fee of five dollars ($5.00) for the
first twenty-four (24) hours of storage or part thereof, and
five dollars ($5.00) for each subsequent twenty-four (24)
hours of storage or part thereof, and a seven dollar and
fifty cent ($7.50) administrative fee;
(a)(1)(b). Payment of a cash bond in the full amount of the
accrued towing and storage fees, and the administrative fee;
or
SECTION 2. That the City Code, Chapter 53, Traffic, Section 53-60, is
hereby amended by amending Subsections 53-60 (b)(1)(a) and (b)(1)(b), to read as
follows:
(b)(1)(a) Payment of towing or immobilization fee of
forty-five dollars ($45.00) and a storage fee of five
dollars ($5.00) for the first twenty-four (24) hours of
storage or part thereof, and five dollars ($5.00) for each
subsequent twenty-four (24) hours of storage or part
thereof; payment of a seven dollar and fiftycent ($7.50)
administrative fee; and payment of the standrd charge for
the underlying parking violations as reflected in the
parking violation notices;
(b)(1)(b) Payment of a cash bond in the full amount of the
accrued towing and storage fees, the administrative fee and
the standard charge for the underlying traffic violations;
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City

Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 4. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in
substance the purpose of the ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon
such publication.
