CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE CITY COUNCIL PURSUANT TO
THE CITY CHARTER, ARTICLE III, SEC. 1, OF JUAN GARZA AS CITY
MANAGER.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the appointment by the City Council of Juan Garza to
the position of City Manager effective March 8, 1988, pursuant to the Corpus
Christi City Charter, Article III, Sec. 1, is hereby confirmed, according to the
terms and conditions specified herein, and that he be, and hereby is, also
appointed by additional authority of this resolution. The City Manager's salary
is hereby established at $80,000 per annum. The first official day of this
appointment is March 8, 1988. Annual leave in the amount of 20 days will be
accrued and a car allowance of $450 per month will be paid. As an additional
part of the City Manager's compensation for work performed for the City of
Corpus Christi, a six -month's termination pay at the monthly salary at the time
will be paid should the City Manager be terminated by the City Council. The
City Manager shall also receive the standard other City and managerial -approved
benefits.
