HomeMy WebLinkAbout020291 ORD - 04/26/1988AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE, CHAPTER 36, PARKS, RECREATION, CULTURAL AND LEISURE TIME ACTIVITIES, BY AMENDING SECTION 36-8, ATHLETIC LEAGUE TEAM FEES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Code, Chapter 36, Parks, Recreation, Cultural and Leisure Time Activities, is hereby amended by amending Section 36-8 Athletic league team fees, Subparagraph (a) to hereafter read as follows: (a) The rates to be charged as fees for the participation in city -sponsored league play shall be as prescribed in the following schedule: Entrance fees per team for league play: Adult softball $325.00 Youth softball 150.00 Flag football 185.00 Basketball 250.00 Volleyball 125.00 Soccer, all season 185.00 Entrance fees per team for tournament play: Softball up to $100.00 SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. 206RP058.ord 20291 MICROFILMED SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon such publication. SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall tak�yeffec upon first reading as an emergency measure this the (p day of (J( p' ,19g$.
