HomeMy WebLinkAbout020301 ORD - 05/10/1988AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 19090 BY AMENDING SECTION 3 IN ORDER TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON THE FOLLOWING STREET: South Padre Island Drive (S.H. 358) South Padre Island Drive, from Clare Drive to the north end of the Oso Bay Bridges near Porter Street; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 19090, passed and approved November 19, 1985, be amended by amending Section 3 so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against owners of abutting property on the following street: South Padre Island Drive (S.H. 358) South Padre Island Drive, from Clare Drive to the north end of the Oso Bay Bridges near Porter Street; a substantial copy of which assessment role is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit A. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by the adoption of the final, corrected assessment roll as aforesaid, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall t ke effect upon firs reading as an emergency measure this the 10 ` day of (J,� , 19 X ATTEST: City Secretary APPROVED:/ADAY OF /yd HAL GEORGE, CITY ATTORNEY By Assistant City Attorney 206RP064.ord MAY 9//(2)-2141 THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS , 198Y 20301 MICROFILMED Final Assessment Roll South Padre Island Drive (S.H. 358) From Clare Drive to the north end of the Oso Bay Bridges near Porter Street This project includes improvements to South Padre Island Drive within the described limits. The main highway will consist of two 58 foot wide roadway sections divided by a concrete median barrier providing for four lanes of traffic in each direction. Frontage roads will be constructed along each side of the main roadway. The frontage roads will be 30 feet in width to accommodate two lanes of traffic and will be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to provide for an 8" lime stabilized subgrade, 20" flexible base, 41;;" asphalt stabilized base, 1 3/4" Type "B" Hot Mix asphalt and a 1',:" Type "D" Hot Mix asphaltic surface. A 6" curb and gutter section will be constructed on the outboard side of each frontage road and a machine laid header curb will be constructed on the inboard sides. There will be 4 foot wide sidewalks constructed 2 feet from the property lines and 6 inch thick driveways constructed as shown on the plans. This project is being constructed jointly by the City and the State Depart- ment of Highways and Public Transportation and is an improvement assess- ment project. Based on the low bid submitted by Heldenfels Brothers, Inc. and the City's current assessment policy, owners of abutting property are assessed the following rates.
