AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH CAT
CONTRACTING, INC. AND MICHIGAN SEWER CONSTRUCTION CO., INC.,
A JOINT VENTURE, FOR THE INSTALLATION OF APPROXIMATELY
12,600 LINEAR FEET OF 20" DIAMETER FORCE MAIN AND
CONSTRUCTION OF A LIFT STATION NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF
SHARPSBURG ROAD AND UP RIVER ROAD; APPROPRIATING $1,500,000.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a
contract with CAT Contracting, Inc. and Michigan Sewer Construction Co., Inc., a
Joint Venture, for the installation of approximately 12,600 linear feet of 20"
diameter force main and construction of a lift station near the intersection of
Sharpsburg Road and Up River Road, all as more fully set forth in plans and
specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City
Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the
bid of CAT Contracting, Inc. and Michigan Sewer Construction Co., Inc., a Joint
Venture, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus
Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $1,500,000 from the
No. 501 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund of which $1,348,183.06 is for the contract
award and $151,816.94 is for additional engineering, contingencies, testing,
printing and legal advertising applicable to Project No. 501-86-8.1, West
Allison Trunk Sanitary Sewer No. 2.
