AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF
TEXAS, ACTING BY AND THROUGH ITS STATE HIGHWAY AND PUBLIC
TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION, FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF CERTAIN
SERVICE LIGHTING POLES ON STATE HIGHWAY 358 (FROM GREENWOOD
DRIVE TO AIRLINE ROAD), STATE HIGHWAY 286 (FROM STATE
HIGHWAY 358 TO INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 37), AND INTERSTATE
HIGHWAY 37 (FROM U.S. HIGHWAY 181 TO CORN PRODUCTS ROAD);
AND APPROPRIATING $20,000.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an
agreement with the State of Texas, acting by and through its State Highway and
Public Transportation Commission, providing for the replacement of certain
service lighting poles on State Highway 358 (from Greenwood Drive to Airline
Road), State Highway 286 (from State Highway 358 to Interstate Highway 37), and
Interstate Highway 37 (from U.S. Hlghway 181 to Corn Products Road), all as more
fully set forth in the agreement, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $20,000 from the No. 562
Street Bond Fund for the City's estimated share of project costs, applicable to
Project No. 562-87-1.6.

between the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, hereinafter called the "City",
Party of the First Part, acting by and through its City Manager and the
State of Texas, hereinafter called the "State", Party of the Second Part,
acting by and through its State Highway and Public Transportation
Commission.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the State and the City to remove and
install 21 service poles and incidental items within the limits from
Greenwood to Airline on State Highway No. 358, from State Highway No. 358
interchange to Interstate Highway No. 37 interchange on State Highway
No. 286, and from U. S. Highway No. 181 to Corn Products Road on Interstate
Highway No. 37. The State will perform or have performed this removal and
installation of 21 service poles and the City will pay fifty per cent (50%)
of the cost of this work estimated to be Forty Thousand and No/100 Dollars
($40,000.00). It is estimated the City's share is Twenty Thousand and
No/100 Dollars ($20,000.00).
NOW THEREFORE, it is understood that the State will perform or have
performed this proposed work. The total estimated construction cost of
this work amounts to Forty Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($40,000.00). The
City will pay fifty per cent (50%) of the cost of this work and it is
estimated the City's share is Twenty Thousand and No/100 Dollars
($20,000.00), and the City will transmit to the State with the return of

this agreement, executed by the City, a warrant or check made payable to
the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation in the amount of
Twenty Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($20,000.00), to be used in paying for
the City's share of the proposed work. If at any time it is found that
this amount is insufficient to pay the City's portion, then the City upon
request of the State will forthwith supplement this amount by an amount
equal to the City's full estimated or actual share of the cost of this work
less the amount previously paid to the State Department of Highways and
