AMENDING THE CITY CODE, CHAPTER 55, UTILITIES,
SECTION 55-50, SCHEDULE, BY AMENDING CERTAIN SCHEDULES
THEREIN SO AS TO REVISE WATER RATES FOR CUSTOMERS USING
TREATED OR UNTREATED WATER; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND
PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, various costs of alternative water supply development have
been greatly increased since December 1984; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has concluded that a new schedule of rates
should be adopted; and
WHEREAS, a rate increase is necessary to make the water distribution
system more self -supportive;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Code, Chapter 55, Utilities, Section 55-50,
Schedule, is hereby amended by amending the first two schedules under the caption
TREATED WATER - REGULAR RATE, to read as follows:

MINIMUM CHARGE
Minimum monthly charge to be the sum of the capacity charges.
SECTION 2. That the City Code, Chapter 55, Utilities, Section 55-50,
Schedule, is hereby amended by changing the public agency for resale rates, to
read as follows:
Public Agency for Resale Rates
Treated water purchased at the treatment plant site by a public agency
for resale.

SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be effective for Cycle 7 billings on
or about September 13, 1988, for August water consumption.
SECTION 5. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in
substance the purpose of the ordinance.
