AMENDING THE CORPUS CHRISTI URBAN
TRANSPORTATION STUDY AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE
15181 PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON
OCTOBER 17, 1979; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Corpus Christi Urban
Transportation Plan - 1979, as adopted by Ordinance 12704 and
amended by Ordinance 15181 is hereby amended as follows:
A. Adoption of a new urban cross-section "C-70" as an
urban collector street with a 48 -ft. B -B roadway
cross-section in an overall 70 -ft. right-of-way
cross-section. (Measurement is from back -of -curb on
one side of the street to back -of -curb on the other
side of the street.)
B. Redesignation of the section of U.S. Highway 77 between
FM 624 south to the Missouri Pacific Railroad Line from
a rural arterial cross-section "J" to an urban
expressway cross-section "H."
C. Redesignation of the section of Gollihar Road between
S. Staples Street and Airline Rd. from an urban
arterial cross-section "E" to an urban collector
cross-section "C-70."
D. Redesignation of Santa Fe Street between Ayers Street
and Robert Street from an urban arterial cross-section
"E" to an urban collector cross-section "C-70."
E. Redesignation of Cimarron Boulevard between Yorktown
Road and Oso Parkway from an urban arterial
cross-section "E" to an urban collector cross-section
"C-70."
F. Redesignation of Everhart Road between Yorktown Road
and Oso Parkway from an urban arterial cross-section
"E" to an urban collector cross-section "C-70."
G. Redesignation of Ayers Street between Ocean Drive and
Baldwin Boulevard from an urban arterial cross-section
"F" to an urban arterial cross-section "C-60."
H. Realignment of White Bird Drive, an urban collector,
and realignment of the westbound urban collector north
and paralleling the Carroll Lane Drainage Ditch to form
a four legged intersection at Kostoryz Road.
I. Adoption of the London Area Development Plan (adopted
by Ordinance No. 19975 on September 15, 1987) street
system consisting of the following:
(1) The collector street system identified in the
Plan;
(2) Adoption of County Road 26 rural arterial
cross-section "ER" between FM 763 with an eastward
extension beyond County Road 49;

(3) Deletion of County Road 47 a rural arterial
cross-section "ER" between FM 43, Weber Road, and
Oso Parkway and adoption of the County Road 47
extension as a rural arterial cross-section "ER"
extending north from FM 43 and west to County Road
26;
(4) Deletion of County Road 20A a rural arterial
cross-section "ER" between County Rd 43 and County
Rd 49;
(5) Adoption of County Road 22 as a rural arterial
cross-section "ER" between County Road 43 and
County Road 49.
as illustrated by the diagrams (4 pages) attached hereto as
Exhibit 1, the letters thereon corresponding to the above
letters.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor
or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an
emergency due to the need, to take immediate action to preserve
and protect public property and efficiently and effectively
administer the City's affairs by expediting the construction of
public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day of
