AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF HARLEY
MOODY, D.V.M. BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO A
PORTION OF LOT 20 AND ALL OF LOTS 21, 22, 23, AND 24,
BLOCK 5, TRACY ADDITION, FROM "B-1" NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS
DISTRICT WITH A SPECIAL PERMIT TO "6-4" GENERAL BUSINESS
DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its
reports and recommendations concerning the application of Harley Moody, D.V.M.
for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi.
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing
to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council
of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public,
said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, September 20, 1988, during a
meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of
Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by
the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best
serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the
City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That the zoning on a portion of Lot 20, more fully
described by metes and bounds description attached hereto as Exhibit A, and all
of Lots 21, 22, 23, and 24, Block 5, Tracy Addition, in the City of Corpus
Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be changed from "B-1" Neighborhood Business
District with a Special Permit to "6-4" General Business District.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texans , be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time
to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for

efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning
change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shal / tak- effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 470 day of A e. 4I /

Describing the southwest one and one-half (11/2) feet of Lot 20, Block 5, Tracy
Addition, as shown on plat of record in Book 2, Page 15, of the Nueces County
Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the easterly right-of-way line of Prescott Street,
said point being the west corner of aforementioned Lot 20, for the west
corner of this tract;
THENCE in a northeasterly direction with said easterly right-of-way line of
Prescott Street, a distance of 1.50 feet to a point, for the north corner of
this tract;
THENCE in a southeasterly direction, leaving said easterly right-of-way line
of Prescott Street at right angles thereto, at 140.00 feet pass the original
south corner of said Lot 20, to a point on the centerline of an existing 20
foot utility easement (see Ordinance No. 16818, dated 1-13-82), a distance in
all of 150.00 feet, for the south corner of this tract;
THENCE in a northeasterly direction, with the centerline of said 20 foot
utility easement, a distance of 1.50 feet to a point for the east corner of
this tract;
THENCE in a northwesterly direction with a line at right angles to the
aforementioned 20 foot utility easement, and both 1.50 feet from and parallel
to the southwest boundary line of said Lot 20, at 10.00 feet pass the origi-
nal east corner of said Lot 20, a distance in all of 150.00 feet to a point
on the said easterly right-of-way line of Prescott Street, for the north
corner of this tract;
THENCE in a southwesterly direction, with the said easterly right-of-way line
of Prescott Street, a distance of 1.50 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
