AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CORPUS
CHRISTI INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT RELATIVE TO THE
CONSTRUCTION OF PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS AT WELDON GIBSON
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN CONNECTION WITH PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS
TO HAMPSHIRE ROAD FROM BENYS ROAD TO PADRE ISLAND DRIVE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an
agreement with the Corpus Christi Independent School District relative to the
construction of parking lot improvements at Weldon Gibson Elementary School in
connection with proposed improvements to Hampshire Road from Benys Road to Padre
Island Drive, all as more fully set forth in the agreement, a substantial copy
of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit A.

This agreement is authorized by Ordinance No. and is entered into
between the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, hereinafter called "City", acting
through its City Manager, and the Corpus Christi Independent School District,
hereinafter called "District", acting through the President of the Board of
Trustees.
WHEREAS, the City has prepared plans for the improvement of Hampshire
Road from Benys Road to Padre Island Drive, and
WHEREAS, the District, being owners of the Weldon Gibson School (shown on
a plat of Ebony Acres No. 3, map of record in Volume 11, Page 35, Map Records,
Nueces County, Texas, and adjacent to Hampshire Road) , desire to make certain
improvements to the parking lot at said school concurrently with the
improvements to Hampshire Road;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City and District agree as follows:
1. The City will include the improvements to the District's parking lot
in the construction contract for the improvements to Hampshire Road. The
parking lot improvements are as shown in City Drawings, Str. 656. All work
shall be done in accordance with the plans and specifications for the project
as prepared by the City's Department of Engineering Services.
2. The District shall reimburse the City the actual cost of
construction of the aforesaid improvements to the parking lot. The estimated
cost of construction is as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a
part hereof. This estimate is included for informational purposes only and
the final cost of said improvements shall be based on actual contract unit bid
prices and actual constructed quantities.
3. Upon completion of the entire project and after formal acceptance of
same by the City, the District will pay the City, upon proper invoicing, the
cost of theP arking lot improvements within thirty (30) days of the invoice
date.
4. This agreement shall in no way affect the City's assessing the
District for their proportionate share of the cost of the improvements to
Hampshire Road as specified by City Ordinance.
5. The District shall not restrict public access to the sidewalk along
the north property frontage along Hampshire Road.
6. The Agreement shall become effective and shall be binding upon and
shall inure to the benefit of the parties hereto and their respective heirs,
successors and assigns from and after the date of execution.
