AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT
WITH THE BOYS CLUB OF CORPUS CHRISTI, INC. TO PROVIDE FOR
AIR CONDITIONING UNITS/FURNACES IN LIEU OF CONSTRUCTION OF A
JOGGING TRACT USING THE $8,200 OF CDBG FUNDS PREVIOUS
APPROPRIATED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an
amendment to the contract with the Boys Club of Corpus Christi, Inc. to provide
for air conditioning units/furnaces in lieu of construction of a jogging track
using the $8,200 of CDBG funds previously appropriated, all as more fully set
forth in the contract amendment, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this
ordinance is passed find shall take effect u on first reading as an emergency

CONTRACT AMENDMENT
THE STATE OF TEXAS
* KNOW ALL BY THESE PRESENTS:
THE COUNTY OF NUECES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas, a municipal corporation (hereinafter
called "City") and the Boys Club of Corpus Christi, Inc., a non-profit
corporation (hereinafter called "Subgrantee") hereby agree to amend the
previous contract entered into by them on July 16, 1987, as provided herein:
WHEREAS, the construction of the jogging track provided for in the
original agreement was made with funds from the Community Development Block
Grant; and
WHEREAS,. the $8,200 granted in .the original agreement for the
construction or a jogging track has not been utilized; and
WHEREAS, construction of a jogging track has not been made;
City and Subgrantee, therefore, agree as follows:
1. The $8,200 originally granted for the exclusive purpose of the
construction of a jogging track may be utilized by Subgrantee for the
following purposes:
Acquisition and installation of air conditioning units/furnaces in
the facility located at 3902 Greenwood Drive.
2. Said grant funds shall be used for no other purposes than those
expressly listed above, and Subgrantee agrees to provide to City prior to
disbursement of any such funds a statement detailing the actual costs expended
by Subgrantee in making said improvements.
EXECUTED in duplicate originals this day of
1988, shall be in effect for a period of one year from date of execution.
