AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT
WITH THE KINNEY'S LANDING VENTURE FOR A TWENTY-FOUR (24)
MONTH EXTENSION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE TRACT LOCATED AT
202 N. MESQUITE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an
amendment to the contract with the Ki nney' s Landing Venture for a twenty-four
(24) month extension of the redevelopment of the tract located at 202 N.
Mesquite (Lot 12, Block 24, Beach Portion) , all as more fully set forth in the
contract amendment, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a
part hereof, marked Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for the
efficient and effective administration of City affai rd , such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this
ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency

CONTRACT AMENDMENT

* KNOW ALL BY THESE PRESENTS:
This CONTRACT AMENDMENT is entered into between the City of Corpus
Christi, hereinafter called "City", and Kinney's Landing Venture hereinafter
called "Owners".
I.
City agrees to extend the Contract for an additional twenty-four (24)
months for the redevelopment and completion of the tract as shown as Exhibit
"A" of this Contract Amendment.
II.
THE OWNERS AGREE:
1. That the redevelopment of the tract as shown as Exhibit "A" in this
Contract Amendment must be undertaken within twelve (12) months from the date
of this Contract Amendment and completed within twelve (12) months from the
date the redevelopment work is begun.
2. To comply with applicable terms and conditions as specified in the
original contract.
EXECUTED in duplicate originals this day of
1988, equal force and effect.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we , therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
