HomeMy WebLinkAbout020547 ORD - 01/03/1989AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 19181, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL AND ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST THE OWNERS OF PROPERTY ABUTTING ON SARATOGA BOULEVARD, FROM AYERS STREET TO SOUTH STAPLES STREET, AS HEREIN PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 19181, passed and approved February 4, 1986, be amended by amending Section 3 so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against owners of abutting property on the following streets: Saratoga Boulevard (S.H. 357) Saratoga Boulevard, from Ayers Street to South Staples Street a substantial copy of which assessment roll is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit A. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by the adoption of the final, corrected assessment roll as aforesaid, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is pa sed and shal take effe t upon firs eading as an emergency measure this the day of ,: 19 ATTEST: APPROVED: f?, DAY OF oo ve.4.1,..10.ete , 19 qv HAL GEORGE, CITY ATTORNEY By tg * ant City tt ey THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS 2054'7 111106Pitta Final Assessment Roll Saratoga Boulevard (S.H. 357) From Ayers Street To South Staples Street This project includes improvements to Saratoga Boulevard within the described limits. The roadway will consist of two 40 foot wide street sections divided by a 16 foot wide median and will provide for three lanes of traffic in each direction with a left turning lane at major intersections. The roadways will be constructed by excavation to a depth to permit the laying of an 8" lime stabilized base, a 14" flexible base, 7" of Type "B" Asphaltic concrete and a IL" Type "D" Hot Mix asphaltic surface. A 6" standard curb andg utter section will be constructed along both sides of each roadway and a 4 foot wide reinforced concrete sidewalk will be constructed 2 feet from thero ert P P y lines on each side of the street. Reinforced concrete driveway approaches, 6" thick, will be constructed as shown on the plans. This project is being constructed jointly by the City and the State Depart- ment of Highways and Public Transportation and is an improvement assessment project. Based on the low bid submitted by W.T. Young Construction Company and the City's current assessment policy, owners of abutting property are assessed at the following rates.
