AUTHORIZING THE SETTING OF PUBLIC HEARINGS TO
CONSIDER POSSIBLE ANNEXATION BY ELECTION ON
APRIL 1, 1989, THOSE AREAS IDENTIFIED IN MAP
ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT A
WHEREAS, the City Council of Corpus Christi has
following objectives:

1. Utilize an orderly and prioritized annexation
insure an adequate supply of developableprogram to

2, Use annexation to protect the City from urbanrow
is incompatible withg th that
p the developmental objectives of
Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Corpus Christi has adopted P the
following policies:
1. Pursue a policy of annexation of lands at theeriphe
p P ry of
the City to achieve orderly growth; and
2. Pursue a policy of annexation adjacent to the City's
s
growth areas in order to extend zoning ordinance control
consistent with adopted Land Use Plans; and
WHEREAS, those areas identified in Map Exhibit
A should be
considered for annexation in light of the above adopted
objectives and policies;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. In accordance with the City Charter and the laws of
the State of Texas, the City of Corpus Christi does herebydirect
ect
that public hearings be held to consider possible annexation
by
election on April 1, 1989, those areas identified on MapExhibit
A
attached hereto and as more fully described by metes and bounds and
maps on file in the office of the City Secretary, and made apart
hereof by reference the same as if copied verbatim
p herein;
SECTION 2. Such hearings to be held as required by law at such
times and places designated by public notice in the areasro os
p p ed
to be annexed, and on January 24, 1989, at 2:00 p.m. in the Council
Chambers at City Hall, to provide an opportunity for interested
persons to be heard, and to make available to such persons for
inspection and explanation, the proposed service plan for the
extension of municipal services into each area to be annexed; and

SECTION 3. Directing the City Secretary to cause•
settingthe the notice
public hearings on the proposed annexation to be
published, as required by law, in the Corpus Christ' •
p 1 Caller Times, a
newspaper of general circulation within the Cityof •
and the areas Corpus Christi
proposed to be annexed.
