RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THE TEXAS LEGISLATURE TO VOTE
AGAINST HOUSE BILL 913.
WHEREAS, the water rate structure for the City of Corpus Christi
appropriately establishes different rates for customers outside its city limits,
than those within; and
WHEREAS, HB 913 would require the City to not assess greater charges
to outside customers; and
WHEREAS, HB 913 is an unjustified restriction on local decision making
and home rule; and
WHEREAS, HB 913 would result in unfair overcharging of customers
within the city limits;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Texas Legislature be respectfully requested not
to pass HB 913.
