RELEASE OF COASTAL
PUBLIC LANDS LEASE NO. CL -80-009
THIS RELEASE is entered into by the City of Corpus Christi, a home rule
municipality as the original "Lessee," and is accepted by the State of Texas,
"Lessor," acting by and through Garry Mauro, Commissioner of the General Land
Office and Chairman of the School Land Board;
WHEREAS pursuant to Coastal Public Lands Lease No. CL -80-009 dated effective
September 2, 1980, and authorized by Ordinance No. 15826 by the City Council of
the City of Corpus Christi on October 22, 1980, the City as Lessee did lease
certain coastal public lands situated on the Intracoastal Canal Crossing on the
Padre Island Causeway (Kennedy Causeway) (as more fully described in Exhibit A
attached hereto) for public recreational purposes;
WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the CL -80-009, the City subleased part of the
leased premises as authorized by:
A) Ordinance No. 16516, amended by Ordinance No. 17953 & 19447, being
Tract 12, known as Rainbow Bait Stand.
B) Ordinance No. 17387, being Tract 13, known as Snoopy's Pier.
WHEREAS the State of .Texas desires to assume the responsibilities of the City's
sublease for:
A) Rainbow Bait Stand.
B) Snoopy's Pier.
and the City desires to relinquish all of the property granted to the City under
CL -80-009, whether herein specifically conveyed or not;
NOW THEREFORE in consideration of the payments, agreements and covenants
provided herein, the parties hereto agree as follows:
I.
The City hereby relinquishes that certain property described by Agreement with:
A) Gene French dba Rainbow Bait Stand as authorized by
Ordinance No. 16516.
B) Ernie C. Buttler and Corliss W. Buttler dba Snoopy's Pier as
authorized by Ordinance No. 17387.
A copy of the metes and bounds property descriptions of Tracts A and B are
attached hereto as Exhibit B.

II.
The State of Texas hereby accepts said property subject to all of said above
referenced Leases on Tract A and Tract B and hereby assumes and agrees to
perform and exercise all rights and responsibilities as required by said above
referenced Leases as Lessor.
The City hereby relinquishes and releases all property rights held by the City
in and to all property leased to the City in CL -80-009.
Iv.
The City hereby assigns any and all rights and interests as Lessor pursuant to
the said above referenced Leases on Tract A and Tract B to the State of Texas
subject to approval and consent of the Texas School Land Board. Obtaining
consent and approval shall be the responsibility of the State of Texas.

THIS RELEASE is entered into by the City of Corpus Christi, a
home rule municipality as the original "Lessee," and is accepted
by the State of Texas, "Lessor," acting by and through Garry
Mauro, Commissioner of the General Land Office and Chairman of
the School Land Board;
WHEREAS pursuant to Coastal Public Lands Lease No. CL -80-010
dated effective September 2, 1980, and authorized by Ordinance
No. 15827 by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi on
October 22, 1980, the City as Lessee did lease certain coastal
public land situated on the south shore of Nueces Bay between the
Nueces Bay Causeway and the Public Boat Ramp for public
recreational purposes;
WHEREAS pursuant to the terms of the Coastal Public Lands Lease
No. CL -80-010, the City subleased the premises as authorized by
Ordinance No. 15827 and amended by Ordinance No. 16097, known as
the Nueces Bay Bait Stand.
WHEREAS the State of Texas desires to assume the responsibilities
of the City's sublease for the Nueces Bay Bait Stand, and the
City desires to relinquish the property granted to the City under
CL -80-010, whether herein specifically conveyed or not;
NOW THEREFORE in consideration of the payments, agreements and
covenants provided herein, the parties hereto agree as follows:
I.
The City hereby relinquishes that certain property described by
Agreement with Charles M. Harris dba Nueces Bay Bait Stand, as
authorized by Ordinance No. 15827 and amended by Ordinance No.
16097, and transferred to Kenneth Schena as authorized by -
Ordinance No. 19004. A copy of the metes and bounds property
description is attached hereto as Exhibit A.
II.
The State of Texas hereby accepts said property subject to the
above referenced Lease, and hereby assumes and agrees to perform
and exercise all rights and responsibilities as required by said
referenced Lease as Lessor.
The City hereby relinquishes and releases all property rights
held by the City in and to all property leased to the City in
CL -80-010.
IV.
The City hereby assigns any and all rights and interests as
Lessor pursuant to the said referenced Lease to the State of
Texas, subject to approval and consent of the Texas School Land
Board. Obtaining consent and approval shall be the
responsibility of the State of Texas.

LANDS LEASE NOS. CL -80-008, CL -80-009, AND CL -80-010.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
Releases of Coastal Public Lands Lease Nos. CL -80-008, CL -80-009, and CL -80-010,
all as more fully set forth in the Releases, substantial copies of which are
attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibits A, 13, and C
respectively.

A copy of the metes and bounds property description of each Tract A -I is
attached hereto as Exhibit B.
II.
The State of Texas hereby accepts said property subject to all of said above
referenced Leases on Tracts A -I and hereby assumes and agrees to perform and
exercise all rights and responsibilities as required by said above referenced
Leases as Lessor.
The City hereby relinquishes and releases all property rights held by the City
in and to all property leased to the City in CL -80-008.
IV.
The City hereby assigns any and all rights and interests as Lessor pursuant to
the said above referenced Leases on Tracts A -I to the State of Texas subject to

approval and consent of the Texas School Land Board. Obtaining consent and
approval shall be the responsibility of the State of Texas.
