HomeMy WebLinkAbout020617 ORD - 03/07/1989AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING NORTH SHORELINE BOULEVARD FROM A POINT 50 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH LINE OF PEARL STREET TO A POINT 100 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH LINE OF PEARL STREET; CANAL AVENUE FROM THE EXTENSION OF THE EASTERLY RIGHT-OF-WAY OF THE PUBLIC ALLEY IN BLOCK 3, CORPUS BEACH HOTEL ADDITION, TO ITS WESTERN END AT SURFSIDE BOULEVARD; SURFSIDE BOULEVARD FROM THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY OF CANAL AVENUE TO THE SOUTH LINE OF PEARL STREET; BENNETT STREET FROM SAID EXTENSION OF THE EASTERLY RIGHT-OF-WAY OF THE PUBLIC ALLEY IN BLOCK 3, CORPUS BEACH HOTEL ADDITION, TO ITS END AT U.S. HIGHWAY 181; AND THE PUBLIC ALLEYS IN BLOCKS 3 AND 4, BROOKLYN ADDITION AND BLOCKS 3 AND 4, CORPUS BEACH HOTEL ADDITION. WHEREAS, notice of the time and place for holding a hearing concerning the closing of the public rights-of-way herein set forth, was given by publication and mailed to the last known addresses of the owners of property abutting the public way and within 450 feet of the area proposed to be closed, and thereafter, pursuant to said notice, public hearing was held during the City Council Meeting on February 14, 1989, in accordance with the provisions of the City Charter; and WHEREAS, it was determined by the City Council after such hearing that the aforesaid portions of right-of-way, proposed to be closed, are not needed now, nor will they be within the foreseeable future needed as public rights-of-way, and that the same should revert to the abutting property owners; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby closed and abandoned North Shoreline Boulevard from a point 50 feet south of the South line of Pearl Street to a point 100 feet south of the South line of Pearl Street; Canal Avenue from the extension of the easterly right-of-way of the public alley in Block 3, Corpus Beach Hotel Addition, to its western end at Surfside Boulevard; Surfside Boulevard from the South right-of-way of Canal Avenue to the South line of Pearl Street; Bennett Street from said extension of the easterly right-of-way of the public alley in Block 3, Corpus Beach Hotel Addition, to its end at U.S. Highway 181, and the public alleys in Blocks 3 and 4, Brooklyn Addition and Blocks 3 and 4, Corpus Beach Hotel Addition. 208JB009. ord 20617 MICROFILMED That the foregoing ordinance was read for e first time and pas ed to its second reading on v this the j'2)jfL{ day of �2,��19, by the following vote: Betty N.
