HomeMy WebLinkAbout020651 ORD - 04/25/1989AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE, SECTION 2- 353(f) SO AS TO DELETE THE REQUIREMENT OF REPORTING REAL ESTATE OF A BUSINESS ENTITY IN WHICH A REPORTING OFFICIAL OWNS STOCK OR EQUITY OWNERSHIP WITH A VALUE EXCEEDING $5,000 OR 10 PERCENT OR MORE OF THE STOCK OR EQUITY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance 20637 passed and approved by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi on March 28, 1989, be and the same hereby is amended by amending the City Code, Section 2-353(f), to read as follows: (f) An itemized list of all real property in Nueces County or any adjoining county in which the reporting official held any legal or equitable ownership with a fair market value of $2,500 or more. The list shall include a description sufficient to locate the property. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the the fact that the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi did not intend for a reporting official to report real estate owned by a company the official holds a $5,000 interest or 10 percent interest in; the deadline for filing such reports is April 28, 1989; the need for efficient and effective administration of the City's affairs; and the necessity to clearly state the City Council's intent so that no mi sfi l i ngs are created; such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take ,effect upon f ' rst reading as an emergency measure this the `j day of i93 ATTEST: City Secretary APPROVED: Z VDAY OF 19101 HAL GEORGE, CITY ATTORNEY By A ' 208HG081.ord y Attorne THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS 20651 IC FILMED Corpus Christi, Texas �.`� day of � ,�/l .(.—) 198 / TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; I /we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
