IN SUPPORT OF HB 3160 BY REPRESENTATIVE HUGO BERLANGA
RELATING TO THE CREATION, ADMINISTRATION, POWERS,
DUTIES, OPERATION, FINANCING, AND DISSOLUTION OF
MUNICIPAL MANAGEMENT DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, cities face increasing demands on services;
WHEREAS, property owners in designated urban areas may choose to
supplement city services and amenities, and to provide needed improvements, and to
more effectively finance and administer projects to stimulate economic development,
and,
WHEREAS, the creation of special benefits assessment districts will promote
employment, commerce, economic development, and public welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of City of Corpus Christi supports and
endorses legislation by Representative Berlanga, HB 3160, which authorizes creation
of municipal management districts and sets forth procedures for administration and
operation of such districts.
