AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO
CHANGE THE NAMES OF THE FOLLOWING BOARDS, COMMITTEES, AND COMMISSIONS:

AND AUTHORIZING THE NAME CHANGE IN ALL SECTIONS OF THE CODE WHERE THE
BOARDS ARE REFERENCED; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the various sections of the City Code of Ordinances
are hereby amended to change the names of the following boards, committees, and
commissions:
From To
Library Advisory Committee Library Board
Mechanical Advisory Committee Mechanical /Plumbing Advisory Board
Municipal Arts Advisory Committee Municipal Arts Commission
and amending all sections of the Code of Ordinances wherein reference to such
boards, commissions, or committees is made to reflect the new name as modified
by this ordinance.
SECTION 2. The names of the boards, committees, and commissions
hereby amended are changed only for purposes of reference and in no way define,
limit, or describe the scope or intent of the purposes and responsibilities of
said boards, committees, and commissions as previously enacted, construed, or
interpreted.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 4. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in
substance the purpose of the ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon
such publication.
