AMENDING THE CITY CODE, CHAPTER 53, TRAFFIC, SECTION 53-254,
SCHEDULE V, INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN CERTAIN ZONES;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Code, Chapter 53, Traffic, Section 53-254,
Schedule V, increase of state speed limit in certain zones, is hereby amended by
deleting the following:
Airport Entrance Road:
From the south right-of-way line of Agnes Street (S.H. 44) to a Fio
2,700 feet south -- 40 mph -- At all times.
Saratoga Boulevard (S.H. 357):
From Cimmaron Boulevard (Sta. 437 + 75) to Airline Road
(Sta. 457 + 95) -- 50 mph -- At all times.
and in lieu thereof adding:
International Drive (Airport Entrance Road):
From the south right-of-way line of Agnes Street (S.H. 44) to a point
2,500 feet south, in both directions of travel -- 45 mph -- At all
times.
From a point 2,500 feet south of Agnes Street (S.H. 44) for a distance
;.t approximately 3.650 feet south of Acres -- 20 mph -- At all times.
rum a point a rnztely 3,650 feet south of Agnes Street for a
distance of 550 feet immediately centered and in front of the airport
main terminal building -- 15 mph -- At all times.
From the east end of the airport main terminal building to a point
2,500 feet south of Agnes Street (S.H. 44) -- 20 mph -- At all times.
Saratoga Boulevard (S.H. 357):
From Cimmaron Boulevard (Sta. 437 + 75) to Airline Road
(Sta. 457 + 95) -- 50 MPH -- At all times, except when school zone
flashers indicating 35 mph are displayed for a distance of 250 feet
each side of Cimmaron Boulevard.

SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause,
phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision hereof ne give i'uT 1 'erra,. n.! i,f1Ect for its purpose.
SECTION 3. Publicatior shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in
substance the purpose of the ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon
such publication.
