AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APFLICIJICk Jr
OAKCREST/MISTY WINDS ASSOCIATES, LTD. BY GRANTING A SPECIAL
COUNCIL PERMIT FOR TWO 60 SQUARE FOOT FREESTANDING SIGNS,
15 FEET IN HEIGHT, ON A PORTION OF LOT 1-R, BLOCK 1,
SANDALWOOD SUBDIVISION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its
reports and recommendations concerning the application of Oakcrest/Misty Winds
Associates, Ltd., for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi;
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing

of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public,
sato public hearing having been held on Tuesday, May 23, 1989, during a meeting
of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus
Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by
the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best
serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the
City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, ThLREFORF, BE CRDAINEG BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRI_`li,
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That a Special Council Permit be granted on a portion of
Lot I -R, Block 1, Sandalwood Subdivision, situated in the City of Corpus
Christi, Nueces County, Texas, and described by metes and bounds attached hereto
and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit A, for two 60 square foot freestanding
signs, 15 feet in height, according to the site plan, a copy of which is
attachec heretc and evade a part hereof, marked Exhibit B, and subject to all
ether consioarafts,°, of "T-17" Hc. :r. Lune Park District.
In the event the Board of Adjustment grants any special exception or
variance to the Zoning Ordinance, applicable to the Special Permit herein
granted, other than the one specified it this Special Permit, said Special
Permit shall be void and of no force and effect whatsoever.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be ano the sante is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time
to time, except as heath c:,; m r?d,:h� i ichd r, in full force and effect.

SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning
change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
at three regular meetinc,s so that this ordinance is pass�ed and sh�l� take effect

plat recorded in Volume 51, Pages 50 and 51, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas,
and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING: At a point in the east right-of-way line of Ayers Street (State
Highway 286) for the southwest corner of this 1.71 acre tract,
said point also being the southwest corner of said Lot One R
(1-R), Block, One (1), Sandalwood Subdivision;
THENCE: N 29°00'00" E, along the east right-of-way line of Ayers Street
(State Highway 286) a distance of 620.00 feet to a point for the
northwest corner of this 1.71 acre tract, said point also being
the northwest corner of Lot One R (1-R), Block One (1),
Sandalwood Subdivision;
THENCE: S 61°30'00" E, departing the east right-of-way line of Ayers
Street (State Highway 286) along the north line of this 1.71 acre
tract a distance of 120.00 feet to a point for the northeast
corner of this tract;
THENCE: S 29°00'00" W, departing the north line of this tract, a distance
of 620.00 feet to a point for the southeast corner of this 1.71
acre tract, said point also being in the south line of said Lot
One R (1-R), Block One (1), Sandalwood Subdivision;
THENCE: N 61°30'00" W, along the south line of this 1.71 acre tract, a
distance of 120.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING, and containing
