HomeMy WebLinkAbout020704 ORD - 06/27/1989AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING 10 PUBLIC ALLEYS, INCLUDING PORTIONS OF BLOCKS 903, 1103 AND 1203, AND ALL OF BLOCKS 1003, 1303, 1403, AND 1503 IN FITCHUE PLACE, AND BLOCKS 1, 2, AND 4 OF THE HUGHES ADDITION, SUBJECT TO RETAINING THOSE ALLEYS IN BLOCKS 903 and 1003, FITCHUE PLACE AND BLOCKS 1, 2, and 4, HUGHES ADDITION AS UTILITY EASEMENTS; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE. WHEREAS, notice of the time and place fur holding a hearing concerning the closing of 10 public alleys, including portions of Blocks 903, 1103, and 1203 and all of Blocks 1003, 1303, 1403, and 1503 in Fitchue Place, shrvt, Ly plat in Volume A, Page 17, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, and Blocks 1, 2, and 4 of the Hughes Addition, shown by plat in Volume A, Page 23, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, was given by publication and mailed to the last known addresses of the owners of property abutting the public way and within 450 feet of the area proposed to be closed, and thereafter, pursuant to said notice, public hearing was held at Regular Council Meeting by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi un December 20, 1988, in accordance with the provisions of the City Charter; and WHEREAS, it was determined by the Zity Council after such hearr:y that the aforesaid portions of rights-of-way, proposed to be closed, are not needed now, nor will they be within the foreseeable future needed as public rights-of-way, and that the same should revert to the abutting property owners, subject to certain specified conditions: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby closed and abandoned 10 public alleys, including the portion of Block 1103 adjacent to Lots 5 through 12 and 53 through 60, the portion of Block 1203 adjacent to Lots 5 through 60A, the portion in Block 903 adjacert tc Lct ib ulru 47, dr,. all 01 blocks 1003, 1303, 1403, and 1503 in Fitchue Place, shown by plat in Volume A, Page 17, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, and Blocks 1, 2, and 4 of the Hughes Addition, shown by plat in Volume A, Page 23, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, and subject to retaining those alleys in Blocks 903 and 1003, Fitchue Place, and Blocks 1, 2, and 4, Hughes Addition, as utility easements. SECTION 2.
