HomeMy WebLinkAbout020710 RES - 07/11/1989A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A COMPLETE COUNT COMMITTEE FOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI IN THE 1990 CENSUS WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the importance of a complete and accurate census count of residents for future allocation of federal funding for local programs; and WHEREAS, in 1980, the City of Corpus Christi had a 73 percent participation in the census return vs the national average of 83 per cent; and WHEREAS, the City Council seeks to encourage the full participation of all residents in the 1990 U.S. Census. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Council establishes the Corpus Christi Complete Count Committee to include no more than 20 members to be appointed by the City Council who shall serve from August 1, 1989, to June 30, 1990. The chairman of the Complete Count Committee shall be appointed by the City Council. SECTION 2. The Complete Count Committee will meet no less than monthly and provide a monthly report to the City Council beginning in September 1989.
