AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 6,
ANIMAL CONTROL, SECTION 6-21, IMPOUNDMENT,
SUBSECTION (F) TO AMEND THE FEE FOR ADOPTION
OF UNCLAIMED ANIMALS SO AS TO EXCLUDE THE
IMPOUNDMENT FEE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That paragraph (f) of Section 6-21 of the
Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to exclude the payment of
the impoundment fee from the fee required for adoption of
unclaimed animals, said paragraph (f) to hereafter read as
follows:
(f) Adoption of unclaimed animal. A person other than the
previous owner may adopt an unclaimed animal after the expiration
of the redemption period and after paying any applicable
boarding, rabies vaccination, and license charges; and, if the
animal is not sterilized, a $25 adoption fee. If an unsterilized
animal is sterilized within thirty days of adoption, then a $25
refund will be paid to the veterinarian performing the
sterilization, upon application by the veterinarian within thirty
days after the service is performed.
